Story & tradition
Obsidian forms when silica-rich lava cools so quickly that crystals do not have time to grow. The result is volcanic glass with a smooth polish and a distinctive, glassy lustre.
In contemporary spiritual use, black obsidian is often treated as a mirror: a reminder to notice patterns clearly, strengthen boundaries and release what no longer serves.
How to wear
- 01
Wear when you want a minimal dark piece that can anchor mixed-metal or symbolic beads.
- 02
A bracelet is practical for daily wear, but remove it for strenuous work where it may strike hard surfaces.
- 03
Use its reflective surface as a simple cue to check in with your intentions.
Care for your piece
- 01
Clean with a damp soft cloth and dry immediately.
- 02
Treat gently: volcanic glass can chip or fracture when struck.
- 03
Store in a soft pouch away from harder stones and metal edges.
